The economy is swinging up and down like crazy. Markets can't find a floor. Gas prices are through the roof. And your retirement account changes every time you check it.
Here's the truth nobody wants to say. This is bigger than Trump. You can't fix 60 years of irresponsible government spending in two years.
Even Trump admitted when he took office “there could be some pain.”
But what if there's a shortcut?
Buried in a little-known document from Trump's economic agenda, there's what some experts are calling a “reset switch.” One executive action that could fundamentally reshape the entire economy.
No vote. No Congress. One signature.
Why should you care?
Because the Americans who position themselves before he flips that switch could make a fortune.
And this isn't some complicated Wall Street strategy. If you can read this email, you can take advantage of it.
A free report explains exactly what this reset is, how it works, and the simple step to get positioned.
Most people will ignore it. They'll trust the talking heads on TV and hope for the best.
But if you think there's even a small chance this could happen, isn't it worth 10 minutes to find out?

The 30-Year Rejected the Rescue
The Treasury doubled its long-end buybacks Wednesday. On Thursday, the 30-year yield closed at 5.251%, higher than before the announcement. The Dow shed 703 points. The VIX fell to 15.77. One of these markets is wrong, and it isn't the one bleeding.

The Breakdown
Today's disagreement: the options market is pricing calm; the bond market is pricing that the government's intervention already failed.

The Front Page
The Dow lost 703.84 points Thursday, its worst session in three weeks. Walmart cratered 9% on 2.6% US comp sales, the slowest print since Q4 2020. The wires led with the consumer.

The Tape That Moved First
Bonds sold off before the equity open. The 30-year climbed 5.7 basis points to 5.251%, erasing Wednesday's buyback rally in a single session. The 10-year closed at 4.704%. Equities followed the rate tape down.

The Line Underneath
Treasury named a size. Four billion dollars per operation, starting September 9, running through November 4. The long end took the offer and walked it back within 24 hours. Financial repression clears one auction; it doesn't clear the tape.

The Bid That Didn't Take
Walmart Grabbed the Front Page
Every wire led with Walmart. The stock shed roughly $60 billion in market cap on 2.6% US same-store sales. That is a full point light of the 3.7% Wall Street had penciled in. It is also the slowest reading since the pandemic quarter. CFO John David Rainey pointed at pump prices above $4 a gallon. He said customers were making "trade-offs." That is a real story about the American consumer. It is not, however, why the Dow lost 703 points.
The Bond Tape Was Louder
On Wednesday the 30-year rallied about ten basis points on the Treasury's announcement. Bessent was doubling long-end buybacks to $4 billion per operation. On Thursday the 30-year gave the entire move back, plus a hair. It closed at 5.251%, a whisker above where it stood before he stepped in. The 10-year settled at 4.704%. The dollar hit a three-month low at 98.8. Gold fell 1.05% to $4,475 as real yields pushed back up. Equities didn't lead this move; they followed it.
Why This Failure Isn't Ordinary
An auction failure is one window, one price, one afternoon. A buyback failure is different. The Treasury named a size ($4 billion), a duration (through November 4), and a maturity range (10 to 30 years). The market took the offer and rejected it inside 24 hours. Charlie Bilello called the program "debt reshuffling, not debt reduction." The tape said something sharper. Four billion dollars inside a $32 trillion market is not a lever. It is a gesture. The government committed explicit dollars to a level and the level broke anyway. The next auction inherits that tell.
What Warsh Has to Answer Next Friday
The VIX at 15.77 says equity options aren't hedging anything. Bonds disagree. The tiebreaker isn't this morning's flash PMI. It is Friday, August 28, when Kevin Warsh delivers his first Jackson Hole keynote as Fed Chair. Prediction markets on Kalshi and Polymarket price a September hold at roughly 75%. Rate futures put September hike odds nearer one-third. If Warsh reads a hawkish room, the gap between those two markets closes fast. It closes toward the higher yield, not the lower. Watch the 30-year through today's close. Another five-basis-point session with a five-handle at the bell, and the buyback stops being Wednesday's story. It becomes next week's auction problem.

Wednesday, the Treasury drew a line under the long end. Thursday, the long end walked over it.
